Welcome to my web page! My name is Miss Gonzalez, and I am the full-time School Counselor at Roosevelt School. I am so excited to announce this will be my first year at Roosevelt School and in the Manville School District. I will be working alongside Ms. Stranieri, who serves as the part-time School Counselor at both Roosevelt and Weston.
As school counselors, we take on many roles within the school. However, our main priority is to be a resource for the students to foster social, emotional, and academic growth.
I serve as the Anti-Bullying Specialist in our school and am responsible for completing and resolving investigations on reports of Harassment, Intimidation & Bullying (HIB). I also serve as the Intervention and Referral Services (I&RS) Coordinator to facilitate accommodations and interventions for eligible students. Additionally, I serve as the Roosevelt Testing Coordinator and am responsible for the planning, security, distribution, and collection of the NJSLA standardized test.
I facilitate our building's Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) program called the Roosevelt Road. Every month of the school year we focus on a different pillar of character, paired with a social emotional learning tool. This system helps our students to embody each pillar of character - safety, responsibility, respect, trustworthiness, fairness, caring, and good citizenship. It also encourages our students to practice self regulation methods in order to grow socially and emotionally. Each month we recognize a VIP student who exemplified the pillar and social emotional learning tool!
Our door is always open, and we are more than happy to speak with our Roosevelt parents/guardians regarding any progress or concern related to their child. We know this year will come with a lot of new challenges and we are here to help in any way we can. Thank you for reading and let's have a great school year on Roosevelt Road!

I am thrilled to serve as the part-time school counselor between Roosevelt and Weston Elementary Schools in the Manville School District. My journey in education began in 2005, and I have been fortunate to work in a variety of roles that have allowed me to support students in different ways. I started my career as an elementary school teacher, where I taught Kindergarten, First Grade, and Fifth Grade. In 2019, I transitioned into my current role as a school counselor, continuing to work at the elementary school level but focusing on the social, emotional, and academic development of our young learners.
As a school counselor, my mission is to empower students to grow into confident, resilient, and successful individuals who are equipped to navigate life's challenges. I work closely with students to help them develop essential life skills, build self-esteem, and foster positive relationships. Whether it’s providing individual counseling, facilitating group sessions, or collaborating with teachers and parents, I am committed to creating a supportive environment where every child can thrive.
Outside of my work in the schools, I enjoy spending my free time relaxing at the beach, cheering on my three children at their activities, going for walks, and immersing myself in nature. And of course, there are always those moments when I enjoy winding down with a good movie.
I am truly excited to be part of such a dynamic community and look forward to continuing to support the wonderful students at Roosevelt and Weston Elementary Schools!
